Crafting or the Attempt Therof...

So we are creating a new club for crafters!  We call ourselves the "Unfinished Crafter's Club" of UFO's (unfinished objects).  How's that for a great name?

Our first meeting was just two of.  We had eight who were scheduled to attend but with surprising last minute happenings, most were tied up elsewhere.  We are going to try it again.  Everyone was excited to give it a whirl because we all have those unfinished projects just laying around nagging at our conscience.  I love seeing what everyone else is working on!

A Crafter's Dream

So I'm getting really fired up with the sewing gig.  I'm having a blast embroidering names on various items.  I'm working on a quilt and I made a crib set for my newest grandson, Caleb, complete with pillow sham and the softest quilt you've ever felt.  Can't wait for the little feller to arrive!

Pinterest

So I've found this great new website called Pinterest!  If you haven't been there, you gotta request an invite and join in on the fun.  It holds a whole world of great stuff, ideas and you can get lost for hours just looking at all the things that are posted there.

Looking for a new idea?  Try Pinterest.  Looking for help crafting?  Try Pinterest.  Want a new recipe?  Try Pinterest.  Want a good book to read?  Try Pitnerest.  Want to redecorate?  Try Pinterest.
Needless to say, anything and everything is there.  Build your own wall of things to try, things you like, things that interest you.

What a blast.  See you there!

Lot's of Good Idea's

I've come up with lots of good ideas this year; really, they were!  I have failed to implement quite a few of them.  Hmmm, how do I fix that?  I guess, the same way you eat an elephant; one bite at a time.  So, to all my good ideas, better ideas and just plain "hmm, that sounds like a good idea":

ALL IN GOOD TIME; ALL IN GOOD TIME!

The Very Beginning of a Great New Year!

Well, they say there's nothing new in the world.  I would have to agree with this statement.  So much has transpired this year.

Personal:
Turned another year older.  UGH!  How come getting older involved so many aches and pains?  I started a journey of physical fitness (since the gym membership is part of my employment package and FREE).  I have fallen and hurt myself too many times in the last couple of years.  I need to be more proactive on my gracefulness.  Almost three months into this physical activity stuff and, although I haven't lost more than 15 pounds, I do feel a lot more resilient.  I hope to be down 50 pounds by summer.   Sounds like a good goal, right?

Professional:
Took a new job, lost a new job, started another job, moved real estate offices twice (actually three when you figure in that one of those jobs was at a real estate office.  WHEW!  I'm tired. Now, I won't say that I should have known better, but seriously, I should have known better.  When you go back to work for someone who you couldn't work for previously, WHAT IN THE WORLD GOES THROUGH YOUR HEAD TO MAKE YOU THINK YOU CAN DO IT AGAIN?

Did I mention that I LOVE working at the community college?  NWACC rocks!!  And the IT Department is just AWESOME! My boss is smacktabulous!!  Plus I get to take classes and increase my knowledge (there's a scary thought).

Family:
YAHOO!  I got a new daughter-in-law this year!  And the grandson turned 2!  Last child a Senior and trying to wear my patience out by enrolling in college, trying to get into ROTC and, just in general, growing up!

I really haven't set any resolutions for the year, ok, well maybe get health; maybe become full time at NWACC; get the youngest out of high school and into college.

So, here's to a new beginning in 2011.  I hope it brings better things for all of us.

Where Have I Been?

Gosh, I just logged into my blogger account and realize I fell off the Earth for almost five years! What in the world have I been doing?

Life has moved on and changes are forever constant. I'm curious what the Lord has in store for me next? I've been told that for every hardship we endur, there is something sweeter on the other side. I'm anxiously anticipating the arrival of the sweeter. The last three years have been hideous and I wouldn't care to repeat them.

However, I am blessed to have a roof over my head and food in my stomach. My children are all healthy and relatively well. My youngest worked his way into the states premier high school in Hot Springs called ASMSA (Arkansas School for Math, Science and the Arts). My oldest is in the Air Guard and destined for Afganistan this spring. My middle son is back in college and working with his father and loving it. I'm loving the little grandson he brought into our lives! The daughter-in-law ain't too bad either!
